Game of Thrones Tour
We'll pick you up from your hotel in Akureyri at 9 am and begin the tour that will take us beyond the wall and into the world of 'Game of Thrones'.
Throughout the tour we'll visit the most iconic spots in Iceland where this popular HBO series was filmed. To start off, we'll head to the Godafoss Waterfall, one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the country. We'll recall which parts of the show were shot here and reveal other behind the scenes insights, such as the reasons that the crew had to spend longer than expected in this area.
From here, we'll continue on to Lake Myvatn, one of the most famous locations in the east of Iceland due to its ongoing volcanic activity. Nearby we'll find the Skútustaðagígar pseudo-craters, home to a cave where some scenes from season three of Game of Thrones were filmed.
As we uncover more mysteries and intricacies of the show, we'll have to be careful to avoid running into the White Walkers or members of Mance Rayder's clan. What we'll for sure be seeing are the dark castles of Dimmuborgir, the caves of Grjotagja and the bubbling mud pits of Hverir.
To finish off the tour, we'll visit the thermal baths of Myvtan, a perfect place to relax and take a warm soak, a definite highlight of the trip!
Finally, we'll return to Akureyri and drop you off at your hotel, ending the Game of Thrones tour at approximately 4:30 pm.
