Discover the famous peninsula in northwestern Iceland with this Westfjords Jeep Tour from Patreksfjordur. Fjords, breathtaking scenery and open-air museums await you on this Icelandic adventure.
Westfjords Jeep Tour
We'll meet at 9 am on Þórsgata Street in Patreksfjordur and board an off-road jeep for a very special tour of the Westfjords, the Icelandic Westfjords.
Endless valleys, imposing cliffs, long beaches... We'll travel through some of the most beautiful corners of this part of the island and you'll take in unforgettable views. The tour will start with a drive through the Selárdalur valley to the Samúel Jónsson open-air museum.
There we'll stroll among the huge sculptures made by this self-taught artist - did you know that he had to wait until he retired to devote himself to art? After seeing the large statues, paintings and colourful houses of this peculiar museum, we'll return to the jeep to head towards Bíldudalur, the capital of the Westfjords.
Situated on the Arnarfördur Fjord, this town is home to many stories and legends related to sea monsters. Are they true? To find out, we'll visit the Sea Monster Museum, where we'll see a multimedia exhibition full of stories about these beasts.
Our final stop will be Tálknafjördur, a small town in the southern West Fjords that perfectly reflects the Icelandic fishing tradition. We'll also explore both sides of the fjord in search of the best pictures of the Westfjords.
The tour will end at the starting point at approximately 3 pm.
