Silfra Fissure Snorkelling & Whale Watching

At 9:00 am we'll meet at Ægisgardur 5 in Reykjavík harbour for the first activity of the day. 

We'll hop on a boat and head out into the waters off Reykjavík, specifically into Faxaflói Bay, in search of one of the most majestic creatures of the sea- whales. During the trip, we'll see humpback whales, minke whales, white-sided dolphins and even harbour porpoises. You'll learn all about these incredible species!

But that's not all we'll see on our sailing trip... Keep your eyes peeled for the many different seabirds that soar over the Faxaflói Bay, such as gannets, guillemots, cormorants, kittiwakes and puffins.

We'll then return to the mainland and you'll have to make your own way by car to the destination of the second activity:  Thingvellir National Park. We'll meet at the park, home to Silfra Fissure, one of Iceland's great natural wonders. The second activity of the day will be snorkelling in the Silfa fissure that separates the tectonic plates of North America and Eurasia. So you'll be swimming between two continents! The dive will last 45 minutes so you'll have plenty of time to explore the beauty of the rift. 

Finally, once we come back to the surface, we'll warm up with a hot drink and a snack. 

At 7 pm we'll end the tour in Thingvellir National Park.

Transfers

The transfer between the whale watching activity and the snorkelling in Silfra Fissure is not included. Therefore, you'll have to make your own way to both activities. The meeting points are as follows:

• Snorkelling in Silfra Fissure: Tröll Snorkel Visitor Centre, located in Thingvellir National Park
