At the indicated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Reykjavík and begin a perfect route for discovering some of Iceland's most fascinating volcanic landscapes. Are you ready for a trekking route along the Reykjanes peninsula?
To do so, we'll travel by bus to the heart of Reykjanes, where we'll begin our trekking route. As soon as we start, you'll notice the amazing landscapes that characterise this area, full of traces of different volcanic eruptions that blend in perfectly with the rugged coastline.
First of all, we'll approach the geothermal area of Seltún, where we'll admire the fumaroles and natural pools of the area. Afterwards, we'll hike to the Fagradalsfjall volcano. Did you know that it's the youngest crater in Iceland? On this stretch, we'll see lava fields that are still hot and, of course, we'll reach the viewpoint where we'll be able to admire the fresh lava from the last eruptions. You'll be amazed!
After exploring the lava fields for about 45 minutes, we'll travel to the coastal village of Grindavík. Here, we'll learn about the daily life of the inhabitants in this critical place, as they are under continuous threat of volcanic eruptions.
To refuel, you'll have free time at a restaurant to satisfy your appetite on your own—don't hesitate to try the delicious seafood and fish from this part of Iceland, you'll love it!
Finally, we'll head back to your hotel in Reykjavík and end the tour after 6.5 hours in total.
