Tour Details
At the appointed time, we'll meet at Thingvellir National Park, where the famous Silfra Fissure is located. We'll walk over to the fissure and admire this great natural beauty. Next, you'll be told all the basic techniques of snorkelling so that you'll be able to safely enjoy the activity and get the very most out of this incredible experience.
The fissure is located at the exact point where the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates separate, so you'll be diving between two continents! As part of this experience, you'll see the walls of this canyon up close.
As you swim through the crystal clear waters, you'll approach the widest part of the rift, known as Silfra Hall. Next, you'll come to the Silfra Cathedral, a truly divine section of fissure. Then we'll finish the snorkelling part of the tour at the Blue Lagoon, the shallowest part of the Silfra rift.
Finally, we'll return to dry land after 35 minutes of snorkelling and warm up with hot chocolate and biscuits. Once refreshed and energised we'll continue our tour to the relaxing Laugarvatn Fontana spa.
In order to get to the spa, you'll have to drive by car. Once at this incredible spa, you'll be able to really relax in the geothermal baths and enjoy all the healing properties of these natural waters. The spa has something for everyone with natural pools, steam baths and ice lakes!
We'll end the tour at the Laugarvatn spa, 5 hours later, but feel free to stay at the spa for as long as you like.
